Resembling a burning fire, this sculpture made of CRT televisions and metal tubes challenges our consumption of consumer electronics and its contribution to global warming.
The fireplace used to be the heart of our homes; later, it was replaced by the television, and now by flatscreens and mobile phones.
The consumer electronics market wastes many resources and has yet to take sufficient steps toward sustainability, even though the negative effects on the environment are constantly communicated through the very screens we use.
It also served as the stage for a performance by choreographer Ella Clayson.
